The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced Friday 25th to Thursday 31st August 2017 as date for the 2017 edition of its Annual General Conference.
The event which will be the 57th installment is scheduled to hold in Nigeria’s former capital city, Lagos.
Speaking of the upcoming event, President of the association, Abubakar Mahmud (SAN) said “on this 57th edition of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual Conference, we can be proud of the achievements we have made over the decades, as we look forward to our continued efforts in taking the Nigerian Bar to unprecedented heights”.
“It is apt that at a time when the voice of the profession needs to be at its most audible, we gather together in the Centre of Excellence and Nigeria’s leading commercial city to chart the path to maintain the high standards characteristic of our profession, and to remain relevant in the increasingly globalized legal services industry” he said.
With over 100,000 members, the Nigerian Bar Association is the largest body of lawyers in Africa and the NBA Annual General Conference is the largest and most prestigious event for Nigerian lawyers and legal professionals, giving lawyers and legal professionals the opportunity to discuss continuing professional development and providing lawyers with a forum to discuss topical national issues as well as network, share ideas and experiences.
The host city Lagos, is one of Africa’s rapidly evolving cities and home of the headquarters of almost 50 per cent of the top 500 Nigerian companies. It will therefore present an abundance of business and networking opportunities for participants.
This year’s AGC will see the NBA strategically collaborating with iconic government leaders, major players in the economy, global business pundits as well as leaders in friendly law firms around the globe.
